Welcome

Thank you for coming to the ImpactKC web site.  Whether you are a member, prospective member, former grantee or a worthy organization seeking a grant, we hope to answer your questions and provide you with the information needed to continue making an impact in the Kansas City community.

Who we are

ImpactKC is a group of philanthropic and civic-minded individuals dedicated to making a substantive impact to the well-being of the Kansas City metropolitan area by leveraging the strength and power of a team beyond just the sum of the individuals.

What we do

Annually each member donates $1,000.  The group then receives and reviews grant applications and presentations from charitable organizations and makes collective donations that substantively impact the lives of Kansas City area residents and their communities.  We also host quarterly meetings dedicated to expanding philanthropic knowledge of the membership as well as providing information on local volunteer opportunities.

"ImpactKC has become a model for developing a new generation of philanthropists in our community, and we are proud partners with them in recruiting members, hosting educational and social events, and providing stewardship for their donations."

Laura McKnight
President and CEO
Greater Kansas City Community Foundation
How we are organized

ImpactKC is managed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership (see the Board list at the bottom of our site).  We also have three key committees (Steering, Event and Recruitment/ Membership) that focus on specific elements of operations.  Members are encouraged to serve on the Board or any of the committees.  But general participation is simple and democratic: one member = one vote.  Our fund and finances are managed through the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation who provides critical support allowing us to focus on making an impact.

How to Join

Membership is simply a matter of committing to donate $1,000 per year over five years.  A new member is sponsored by at least two other members, and is simply approved by the Board.  It's just that simple.  But most importantly, we need YOU!  Making a substantive impact on the Kansas City community requires an active membership.  Just click the GKCCF image at the left to donate today.
